A Quenching Community

We had 1.5 tonnes of water delivered to the corps today as a donation to the Tasmanian bushfire relief effort from one of the Gloria Jeans cafes here in Launceston, organised by one of our fantastic people hear at Kings Meadows.

I thought about this for a moment, when disaster strikes we, as Australians, are really good at getting behind a cause but sometimes we give and then because the disaster may not directly relate to us, that is the last thought we may give it.

The feeling I have got here in Tassie so far is that the whole state is behind supporting the relief effort at any cost, for the people here, it is personal. What an amazing community to be apart of.

(p.s. sorry for the lack of posts, now that unpacking has almost finished I will hopefully get back into a regular routine)
